Headings

ToastWrite supports ATX headings (with # prefixes) and Setext headings (underlined with = or -).

ATX headings

Use one to six # characters followed by a space:

# Heading 1
## Heading 2
### Heading 3
#### Heading 4
##### Heading 5
###### Heading 6

Setext headings

Use a line of = or - under the heading text:

Setext Heading 1
================

Setext Heading 2
----------------

Toolbar

Use the heading dropdown in the toolbar to insert or convert the current line to Heading 1–6.

Tips

  • ATX headings require a space after the # characters.
  • You can toggle a heading back to a paragraph by selecting the same heading level again from the toolbar.
